This special event kicks off before the convention officially opens and is open to everyone — no badge required! Whether you’re looking for unique finds, budget-friendly deals, or hidden gems, this is the perfect chance to shop first and score something amazing!
Second Hand Sale Rules and Policy
- You may not buy goods from other tables at the second hand sale and then sell them at your own table for more money. This will be considered grounds for ejection from the sale.
- Selling at the Second Hand Sale is for attendees only, vendors MUST sell through the vending hall.
- Display all goods in a manner suitable for a general audience (i.e., G/TV-G/E/All Ages). No M ratings, please.
- No edged weapons, unsharpened or sharpened. This includes swords, knives, kunai, throwing stars etc. Plastic kunai or stars are acceptable.
- Provide only second-hand, commercial goods you personally own, excepting only doujinshi.
This means:
- Sale or trade of unlicensed, bootleg, or counterfeit goods is not permitted (e.g. FX, Animetoon, SM, Everanime, Aliors, Elfin).
- Sale or trade of fan-translated goods is not permitted (i.e., no fan subs or fan dubs).
- Sale or trade of personally-made goods is not permitted (e.g. no art commissions).
- However, doujin goods (manga, etc.) are permitted, if they fit all other rules.
- All goods brought to the Second Hand Sale will be looked over by Second Hand Sale staff, and at their discretion, if any are in violation of these rules they will not be permitted into the sale site. there is no holding area for unacceptable items and placing such items into a pocket, bag, box, etc., or under a table will not be permitted, they must be taken out of the venue upon rejection.
- Please respect the decisions of HachiCon staff & volunteers regarding seating arrangements and any questionable items.
- Instructions given by the Second Hand Sale staff or volunteers to enforce these rules, the rules of the convention, and the rules of the event facility must be followed immediately.
- HachiCon, its staff, and its volunteers are not responsible for any transaction that happens at the sale. Second Hand Sale participants are themselves solely responsible & legally-liable for all goods displayed, bought, sold, or exchanged at the Second Hand Sale, including goods content, condition, and stated condition.
- Should you be found in violation of any of these rules you may be evicted from the convention and/or subjected to any required legal action.
